@BryanLunduke I can kinda see the W3C's side of things on the DRM. If it's not standardized, then companies will still use it via other sources creating potential "plugin" problems for general users.
This way that can lessen the burden on the general user. The core problem is that DRM exists at all and everyone HAS to work around it somehow.
Even if Netflix didn't support DRM, you can bet the content providers would require it of them.
I think we try to over simplify some of these issues.
