@BryanLunduke Tim Berners-Lee created it as a university project in a free and open way -- we can do it again, and this time form it such that it remains free and open via IETF RFCs.
@BryanLunduke never understood why we needed more than RFCs for web tech in the first place when RFCs have defined far more complex systems such as mail, TLS, TCP, IP, etc.
