It's funny, at this point, the proprietarians think that extending their reach into the free software communities is their best move to show folks that they support the ideology, but that's actually going to end up backfiring on them on every account.
This will push more people to self-host their own code repositories.
What they don't see is that self-hosting is no longer a "hardcore dev peoples club." Self-hosting is trivial these days and will continue in that direction
The “interactive space” of President Trump’s Twitter account is a public forum, and blocking speakers there on the basis of their viewpoints violates the First Amendment, a federal judge has ruled. https://www.eff.org/press/releases/victory-first-amendment-court-rules-government-officials-who-tweet-public-cant-block
Call center lady while updating my email over the phone : "Ok is that @P.R.O.T.O.N.M.A.L.E.com?" hahaha what is a Proton male?
mastodon doesn’t have the same addictive qualities, i mean, i do spend a lot of time here but the connections feel so much more genuine and scrolling my timeline never makes me feel uncomfortable, inadequate or empty and craving “more” as it does on other social media sites.
If you're an instance admin, please drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your instance URL and username, I'll then review and get you an invite.
Please boost this toot, as the Tootmin Network will give us admins a place to collaborate and discuss Mastodon administration away from our respective instances.
Just found out about this company. Digilent. With affordable open hardware/software oscilloscope and electronic test bench all-in-one tools and support for Linux and Mac. Cool, cool stuff.
Aaaand Discord account is gone. Was kind of a dead one for me anyways but I still sat on that button for a while haha.
Swapped out the transmit antenna on one of the repeaters today. Made a BIG difference.
It's terrifying that both of these things are true at the same time in the world:
1. Computers drive cars around.
2. The state of the art test to check that you're not a computer is whether you can successfully identify stop signs in pictures.
Been trying out KeepassXC past couple of hours. It has been problem after problem. I want it to be good but it just does not work. Not sure if it is my distro, or me, or if it is just bad. :( hmm, maybe I"ll try it again later...
My Raspberry Pi based APRS Digipeater is up and going at the house. Hopefully it helps some folks out. RX and TX seem to be working and the software is placing received stations on the map nicely. aprs.fi shows paths are coming through my relay too. Been wanting to play with APRS for years. Good to finally have something set up.
Someone just told me Linux is too proprietary for them to use over Windows... Umm... What?
This is the most dystopian shit I've seen in a while:
Google and Microsoft are pushing websites to replace passwords with their fingerprint scans and facial recognition.
This is huge. Russia’s unelected government is afraid of communications it can’t monitor, so it tries to shut down Telegram. Telegram moves to AWS and Google Cloud. Russia BLOCKS both services.
Linux community, I summon you!

Appreciate any tips!
