I was talking to a friend who was thinking about the internet we want to have, decentralized, less silos, a bit like the nineties where it was possible to have static pages, host email, write your own CGI scripts, and it was all step by step easy and possible if that was what you wanted. And we got talking about the kind of things we need to today to get this back. Do you have reading suggestions? Blogs to read? Projects? People to follow?
Software development is that kind of work, where simple tasks can drain you and hard tasks can energize like nothing else

It's pretty fun to write strong static typed languages like Java or else. You don't always need to run code to be sure it works. Sometimes, the fact that it compiles is your guarantee

I've been hunting for journal solutions for a few days now and I think I'm going to have to go full dork on jrnl. It's the most configurable, portable and pragmatic — which is not something I generally say for command line applications in 2018.

It is possible to write apps for #Android at Android. Not so easy as using laptop, but it is possible!
I'm starting to enjoy programmers streaming their coding sessions on Twich / YouTube.
There's a lot you can learn from watching someone working on a piece of source code, voicing their entire thought process.
